Dr. George Ozoude is the medical director and leading orthopedic surgeon at Movement Orthopaedic Institute. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery, with specialized training in sports medicine and minimally invasive arthroscopy of the knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow.
Dr. Ozoude was born in Houston and raised in New York City. He has a stellar educational background, having completed his medical degree and residency training in orthopedics at the University of Illinois-Chicago Medical School. Next, Dr. Ozoude returned to Houston to complete his fellowship in sports medicine from Baylor College of Medicine and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School.
He also has a proven track record with sports medicine, having served as an assistant team physician to numerous high school and college sports teams, including the Houston Texans, Houston Rockets, Houston Astros, Houston Dynamo, University of Houston Cougars, St. Thomas High School Eagles, the Houston Baptist University, and St. Thomas University.
Dr. Ozoude has also provided orthopedic coverage to numerous athletic programs during his residency training in Chicago, including the WNBA, the Joffrey Ballet Company, and the NCAA Division I athletics. Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Ozoude has dealt with all varieties of sports injuries affecting high school athletes, college athletes, professional athletes, and individuals leading active lifestyles. As such, he has a knack for identifying the root cause of various injuries.
Instead of addressing the superficial symptoms, Dr. Ozoude performs thorough diagnostic tests to understand the root cause of his patient’s symptoms and curate a personalized treatment plan. He treats most sports injuries and cases of chronic pain using non-operative solutions, such as physical therapy, medications, PRP, and stem cell therapy. He only resorts to minimally invasive surgeries when non-invasive solutions don’t yield sufficient results.
